A direct result of the civil rights movement and the legislation that came out of the movement. It was formed in 1971 by African American members of the U.S. House of Representatives, with the specific aim of challenging President Richard Nixon's conservative civil rights and social welfare policies

President Barack Obama and the lawmakers.
3. What was the nature of President Obama's meeting with the Black Caucus?
The nature was to dicuss how to better the economy and get us out of the ression that we are in.
4. What issues would the Black Caucus like to see him address?
They asked Obama to focus on hiring more minorities to federal jobs and helping small and minority-owned businesses get government contracts. They also discussed creating a health-care safety net and addressing medical disparities among minorities.
5. What type of relationship do you think the President and the Black Caucus will have throughout his term in office?
I do believe that they will have a vrey good relationship with them becaues it seems as though both Obama and the Black Caucus want the same things to better the econimy.
