1.) How are the views of this journalist different from most others in mainstream media in regards to the pirates? Detail your answer in one complete paragraph.

The view of the media makes the pirates look really evil. They make them seem like they stole money for nothing or just cause they want to for no arrant reason. They view of the journalist actually tells you the real reason why the pirates take money from people and hold them hostage for money. Also in the journalist views it states that what the pirates are doing to get money is wrong but at the same time their doing it to stay alive.


2.) What are your own views on the Somali pirates? Detail you answer in one compete paragraph.

My views of the Somali pirates are like their not bad people. I believe that their just trying to live. I mean how would you feel if someone put waste in your environment and it lowered your chance of survival? I'm not say that how there going about it is right but I just believe that their trying to live at any means necessary. They already called and told National Volunteer Coast Guards to try to get people from messing up their environment but they really didn't do anything so they are handling it themselves. What else can they do.

I would have to say that the roles stress play in the developmental cycle of individuals from their childhood years to their teen years are peers, family, and school. I chose these three because I felt that these are some of the top topics that causes stress during childhood.

I chose peers first because its really hard to find good friends. Especially when there doing things that you should not be doing and you have to make that choice of right and wrong. But you want to empress or you don't them to think you corny. Its just a whole lot of pressure (speaking form experience).

I secondly chose family because they really can stress someone out. You always want to live up to there expectations and sometimes you feel like what you do is never enough. For example lets say that your a boy and your parents want you to a doctor or basket ball player and there just always on your case about it. That also is a lot of pressure. Living up to people expectations is stressing periods.

Further more I chose school because school very, very, stressing. Its kind of hard trying to keep your grades up. Then you think about how the grades you get now are the ones that they look at when you try to get in the high schools or collage that you want to attend, its very hard. Education sometimes determine your future.

The article on "talking equality" was about how Ariene Ackerman consistently emphasized on black and Latino , particularly males that are at a disadvantage in achievements gains over the past few years. The article went on to say that Black and Latinos lag 24 points behind Whites. In the paper it stated that 59% of students in emotional support classes are African Americans. The Latino boys were also placed in that rate.

Further more the paper talked about how maybe it would help if the students were ib desegregated schools. Ackerman thought that it would help with a lot of the poverty. She then said that "I can't change those things,so I stoped thinking about desegregation and integration. She then said that it was not about what student sits next to who but if there getting the equal amount of educational opportunities.

1. In general, what is the Stimulus Package and its overall purpose to the economy? Why is the Stimulus necessary?

The general purpose of the package was to help the economy with all the jobs that were lost. Also with all the businesses getting closed down. Again the Stimulus package is necessary so that it can help with all the money problems. Basically was to let us know that it won't be easy getting the economy back in the right path but if we are in this together we can do it.

Businesses would get "bonus" depreciation for investing in new plants and equipment. The proposal also allows companies that have losses this year to get refunds for taxes paid as far back as 2003; current tax rules allow losses to be carried back only two years.

On March 2, 2009, the White House brought a $410 billion omnibus spending bill to the Senate. If Congress doesn't pass the bill by March 6th, another short-term funding bill will be necessary to cover interim costs.

5. Do you feel that this package will help Afrikan Americans and if so how? Do you feel that racism and/or gender bias will make a difference.

I do feel that this package will help African Americans because that means that there won't as much four-closing on houses and businesses. That also means we won't lose as much jod's. I believe that is package will give us better opportunities. I think that gender will not matter.

It was formed in 1971 by African American members of the U.S. House of Representatives, with the specific aim of challenging President Richard Nixon's conservative civil rights and social welfare policies

President Barack Obama and the lawmakers.

3. What was the nature of President Obama's meeting with the Black Caucus?

The nature was to dicuss how to better the economy and get us out of the ression that we are in.

4. What issues would the Black Caucus like to see him address?

They asked Obama to focus on hiring more minorities to federal jobs and helping small and minority-owned businesses get government contracts. They also discussed creating a health-care safety net and addressing medical disparities among minorities.


5. What type of relationship do you think the President and the Black Caucus will have throughout his term in office?

I do believe that they will have a vrey good relationship with them becaues it seems as though both Obama and the Black Caucus want the same things to better the econimy.

Madam C.J Walker was born December 23,1867 in Dalta, Louisiana. Her maden name was Sarah Breedlove. She was born into a family of slaves owned by Robert W. Burney. Walker's parent's names were Owen amd Minerva Breedlove. She also had one older sister and five brothers.

When Walker was 7 her parents died during an epidemic of yellow fever. Her ande her older sister moved across the river to Vicksburg in 1878 and became a maid. She then married Moses McWilliams to get away from her sisters abusive husband. Walker and Moses were blessed with a daughter named Lelia Walker. Unfurtunatly when Lelia was two years of age Moses (her father) died. She married a second time but that did not work out.

Madam Walker then started a hair care business where her third husband (Charles Joseph Walker) and her toured the country promoting their products and training sales agents. 1908 to 1910 her and Charles operated a beauty training school. When she was at the highest of her sucess she gathered a group of key principals to run the company she and her husband called it quits. By her being so sucessful she then became a inspeiration to black woman.

She then began promoting woman in business. Not only that but she worked to support the caues of World War I and having black ceterans respect. Walker was then honored by the "National Association of Colored Women". Madam C.J Walker died at the age of 51 on May 25, 1919 due to complications of hypertensive. She was considered to be the wealthiest African-American woman in America and to be the first African-American woman millionaire.

The 3 things that I would like for my new social studies teacher to know about me is that I like for people to really explain what their talking about. Secondly I like for my teachers to be nice/friendly. Lastly I like for my teachers to take suggestions.

I like when my teachers to really explain because so that I get what their saying. For example my last teacher would really explained what she was talking about so that I could really get a good understanding. Also when a teacher does this it shows me that they really care. Who wants a teacher that just reads out of a book and what ever you get out of it, that's just what you get.

Secondly I want my teacher to be very nice/friendly because nobody whats a teacher who's disrespectful. Just as they would like me to be respectful so would. You have to give respect to get it. I believe that respect is the main key.

Lastly I like when teachers take suggestion. That is the best. I hate when teachers never listen to what students have to say. Then when you don't let a student say what they have to say you call them disrespectful cause now there talking over you. I think that whole problem can be avoided if you just say what you have to say then let them speak.

In conclusion being nice/friend,taking suggestions and being respectful are just some of the things I would like out of a teacher as they would me.
